About the course
HRS 401: Hormones, Aging, and Skin Health Continuing education: NCEA-approved continuing education, 10 CEs Estimated learning time: 12 hours of live instruction over 8 weeks Course format: Live Master Track, 90 minutes per week Kit: Not required About the course This course explores how hormones, endocrine function, and aging may relate to changes in skin and hair throughout life. During live weekly sessions, you’ll connect these concepts to esthetic assessment, client consultations, treatment considerations, and professional communication. You’ll also examine precautions, service modifications, and when a referral may be appropriate. What you will learn 1. Analyze the relationship between major hormones, endocrine function, and changes in the skin and hair across different stages of life. 2. Differentiate hormone-related influences on hydration, pigmentation, sensitivity, sebaceous activity, hair growth, skin structure, and visible aging to support informed esthetic assessment. 3. Evaluate client history, consultation information, and observable skin and hair findings to determine appropriate esthetic considerations, precautions, treatment modifications, and indications for referral. 4. Formulate individualized, scope-appropriate esthetic strategies that integrate hormonal and aging considerations into treatment planning, client education, professional communication, and ongoing skin-health support.
