About the course

SRS 401: Clinical Skin Disorders and Treatment Considerations Continuing education: NCEA-approved continuing education, 10 CEs Estimated learning time: 12 hours of live instruction over 8 weeks Course format: Live Master Track, 90 minutes per week Kit: Not required About the course This course examines clinical skin concerns that estheticians may encounter during client assessment. Through observation and case analysis, you’ll consider how visible findings and treatment contraindications affect service decisions. You’ll also explore treatment modifications, professional communication, and when referral to a qualified medical professional is appropriate. What you will learn 1. Identify and differentiate common and complex clinical skin disorders based on observable signs, symptoms, and skin manifestations relevant to professional esthetic practice. 2. Evaluate skin conditions and treatment contraindications to determine appropriate, safe, and scope-of-practice considerations during professional client assessment. 3. Develop evidence-informed treatment considerations and appropriate treatment modifications for clients presenting with clinical skin disorders while recognizing situations requiring referral to a qualified medical professional. 4. Apply clinical observation, critical thinking, case analysis, and professional communication skills to support safe, ethical, and client-centered esthetic decision-making within the practitioner’s professional scope of practice.
